Did they suspend it or revoke it? You should go to the DMV and find out what they want first in order for you to get your license back.

The process of recovering your driver license from the Driver Appeal and Assessment Division of the Secretary of State is pretty complicated. It can be difficult for you to get that license back unless you know precisely what DAAD is looking for. That being the case, it would be best to contact someone who has experience in these matters. In what county do you reside?

You'll need to provide all of the details regarding your two previous infractions, and your sentencing as a result. Relevancy will be how long ago this happened and whether not there have been any incidents since. Additionally you will have to prove that you are no longer drinking.

You need to prove total sobriety for a year or more. The DAAD will not give your license back without proof of sobriety. They want to hear that you have not drank since your last drunk driving arrest date, do not plan on drinking ever again, that you do not associate with drinkers, go to bars, the list is endless. Admit to one glass of champagne for New Years and you are done. You need an alcohol assessment, drug screen, letters of sobriety from a cross sampling of your community, all stating that to the best of their knowledge that you have not drank since.

In Michigan, your license was most likely suspended by the Secretary of State. Normally, the Secretary of State will give you a date when you are first eligible for reinstatement of your license. You will have to wait until after that date to re-apply for a driver's license. There is no hardship appeal of a Secretary of State suspension to the circuit court. If you have questions as to the process you should consult with a local attorney.
