QUESTION

What can one do if arrested when someone filed a false report?

Asked on Apr 01st, 2013 on DUI/DWI - Georgia
More details to this question:
First, the only option for alcohol related issue was DUI. However, I was not arrested for a DUI; only AI. Here is the situation. I was at a female friendโ€™s house from college. She invited me in to hang out for a night or drinking. We got into it because of something i said and she kicked me out. She called a friend of hers who happened to be a cop and told him I broke in and was asleep on the couch and she didn't know who I was. I was obviously very intoxicated and my phone was dead so I couldnโ€™t call for a ride. I haven't went to court yet but I will own up to the AI but she should be accountable for filing a false claim. I have pictures showing that we were all in her place hanging out and eye witnesses. What can be done?

Well, first you should find out what the charges are against you. If it is only AI(?) then you should consider your options if the charges are more serious, seems like you should hire an experienced lawyer, you have defenses and will need help.

You need to hire a lawyer before you do something stupid, like cop out to the AI.
