QUESTION

What happens after a year has passed since my DUI?

Asked on Nov 24th, 2013 on DUI/DWI - California
More details to this question:
A year has passed since my DUI, and they never filed the charges. I looked up on this website and said they only have a year to file charges against me. So now how do I go about getting my license back? Does it automatically go unsuspended? I had got pulled over during the time frame and the cop told me that my license was suspended, he let me go,and he also didn't say anything about a warrant against me. What are the proper steps to take now?

I cannot fully answer your question. The license suspension is based on the numbers of priors. You may have to take a DUI class if your blood was .08% or more. Contact the DMV or get a lawyer to contact them for you.

You probably lost your license because you never requested a DMV hearing. You need to go to the DMV and apply for a license now that your suspension is over.

Did you have a DMV hearing? Call the DMV. You probably still need to take the first offender program, get Sr-22 insurance and pay a reinstatement fee.
