Willie Asbury, I have lived in Ridgefield nj for  3 yrs, i was looking forward to starting my daughter in  Kindergarden. i was told by the school Administration that the school will not accept my daughter because she turns 5yrs old 2wks after a deadline of October 1, 2013. I want to know can i have the town rule challege. I dont want to hold my kid back. i myself had to go through this process and being the oldest in your grade isnt always best.

This is na argument you will not win.  You can always enroll your daughter in private kindergarten and then start her in the first grade the following year.  The birthdate deadlines are put into place because they work for the majority of children.  Many parents, epecially parents of boys with birthdates close to the deadlines, still hold their children back because it allows them to be more mature and more ready.  There is no rush !
