In order to get (not necessarily needed) financial aid for our son for college, my husband is pressuring me to claim on the standard CSS administered by the College Board and FAFSA forms that we are legally separated or even divorced when we are not; we're merely living apart. Although our son lives with my husband for now, we're still in the process of finalizing a separation agreement. It's my understanding that the info on these forms is available to 100's of colleges (almost anywhere our son might apply). My father's pre-paid for my son's college education. Since UVa's my undergraduate alma mater and my son's #2, choice, I'm concerned. I was a highly distinguished student there, UVa's an honor system school, and they're well-aware of my son. Please contact me asap:Thank you PS I've already submitted the NCP form for Princeton.
