More details to this question:
unaware of that in the beginning but when i did find out by asking tohe 1 teacher that was coming why he was only teaching my son algebra he stated my son is suppose to have other teachers for the other subjects, well needless to say he never got those other teachers i called and called and called nothing was done about it.. during his medical home instruction he was placed on admin. home instruction without my knowledge...now its a new school year and i received a report card over the summer in the mail with all F''s except for the Algebra..i have been trying to get answers no one is responding and this woukd mean my son would have to repeat the 9th grade...i would like to know if i can file a suit against my city''s board of education and also the high school admin, staff for failing to educate my child
The relief that you would seek is for compensatory education. That means that the school was supposed to provide something, and they did not, and therefore they have to make that up to your child by paying for additional education. If your child is otherwise doing fine, and missed classes because he was not provided with the proper home instruction, he would be entitled to additional home instruction to compensate for that, maybe during the next summer. Be careful what you ask for - your son might not want to go to summer school!
