What kind of lawyer should I talk to? What area of practice is this?

More details to this question:
I just found out that my college somehow screwed up my records and has been reporting to anyone who called to verify my graduation status for the past 4 years that I never graduated, when I do in fact hold a BA. There are at least 2 jobs that got to the point where they may have reached out to verify and then rejected me based on the idea that I 'lied' on my resume. In one of those cases, I'm looking at 3-4 years where I could have been making at least $10k more than I am now/was at the time. I want to speak with a lawyer about potential damages as this had already happened once while I was still in school and I had to fix it.
Any attorney familiar with breach of contract of breach of duty would be able to address this issue. However, this would be a very difficult case to win. You would have to prove that the only reason you did not get the job is because of misinformation provided by the college. If the employer intended to hire you, and that misinformation was supplied, then the employer would have most likely followed up with you or the college as to your status, especially if you provided your college transcripts. I don't know what duty the college has to you regarding information or how you prove that they breached that duty.
