More details to this question:
My 83 year old stepfather resides in a nursing home. He has been my Stepfather for 42 years. He practically raised me. He married my Mother when I was 8 years old. I love him as though he was my real father. My stepbrother told the nursing home that I threatened my Stepfather. He flat out lied to them. Now the nursing home wont let me in to see him anymore. Im afraid he will pass away before I ever get to see him again. Stepbrother lied only because hes worried that my Stepfather may leave me money when he passes. My Stepfather has Parkinson's disease which is affecting his memorys. Stepbrother is trying to fade me out of my stepfathers life. He also wants to steal the home that was my Mother's home that my real father built. My Stepfather moved in with us all those years ago. My Mom passed a little over a year ago or none of this would be happening. My Stepbrother has told the nursing home not to let anyone in to see my stepfather. This includes all his Grandchildren and great Grandc

Rather than attempt to sue your brother for defamation, which costs money and takes more time than your stepfather may have left, you might want to remind the nursing home that your stepfather, not your stepbrother, gets to decide who visits him.  You might also call APS and report that your stepbrother is abusing your stepfather by isolating him from you, his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren and give them whatever information you have about attempts to steal the home.
