We had been to my sisters house twice to see our Mom and each time my sister got more angry at us and changed locks on Moms house and now will not let us see her in Hospice care since it is in her home. Has called Police on us when we went there to try to see our Mom. Said she will press charges for trespassing. The Police were sympathetic but said we have to get some kind of injunction now. ???
Your mother, not your sister, gets to decide who will visit her. Report your sister to Adult Protective Services for isolating your mother (the first step to abuse and financial exploitation). Contact a local elder lawyer about filing an Application for a Temporary Restraining Order, etc. You can use the Find a Lawyer function on the website of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (www.naela.org).
