Older sister will not let me see or speak to my elderly father, that is in her care in Florida. She claims to have POA but I was told that dodoesn't stop me from seeing him. Is that true? If so what can b e done to get rights to see him. He has dementia.
That is correct. A POA does not give the agent the power to choose the principal's social environment. I suggest you contact an elder law attorney near where your father is located. A guardianship may be required.
