Can someone under 21 perform music at a bar?

Asked on Sep 30th, 2013 on Entertainment Law - Nebraska
More details to this question:
I'm in a band, and I'd like my 19 year old son to play on a few songs with us. Can he perform at bars if he is under 21? Most of these places are more like restaurants but usually card you at the door.

Yes, he can perform with the band as long as there is a parent or guardian present. Obviously, he can't drink alcohol.
