QUESTION

can a funeral home be sued for not giving me options?

Asked on Dec 30th, 2015 on Estate Planning - Georgia
More details to this question:
My mother passed away Aug. 8 , 2014. I was only given two options: cremation and normal funeral. I recently heard about green burial or natural burial. The funeral home I used never gave me that option. Now that I know about green burial I wish I could have done that for my mother. My question is can i sue the funeral home for not giving me that option?

It is nto up the the funeral home to express to you all of hte different optionbs available in teh world.  It is only their job to tell you what they have available.  Even then, they are not legally obligated to even tell you the many options they offer.

Most likely, no. The funeral home offers certain services. If it does not provide other services, it shouldn't generally be responsible for telling you about the existence of those other services.
