I was told on multiple occasions, verbally and in writing, prior to the deceased passing away 5 months ago, that I was named as a beneficiary in a family trust. The two surviving brothers are not honest - one of them stole the deceased wife's heirloom jewelry that was supposed to be heired to me at the time of her death. Now her husband has passed away and the trust attorney says she does not see me in the trust but said she's looking at a 2012 version, and maybe there are more recent versions floating around but she doesn't know? Seriously??? How could she not know? The deceased phone me just prior to his passing to make sure he had my most recent address to give to the family trust attorney to update the trust. How do I find out if I am in the MOST RECENT VERSION of his trust?
A trust is a private document. If the lawyer only has a 2012 version, that is all she can go by. The deceased may have intended to update it but died before he could.
