My Name is Gladys J. Hildreth. I am one of seven decedents of Minnie O. Johnson (now deceased) our mother. Mother died without leaving a will. Our mother left to me and my six siblings Units of land in the Blackjack Creek Field in Santa Rosa County Florida. The land ( I think) was in the process of being recorded in the Santa Rosa County Clerk of Fl. I have documents that includes where the process is now. At one point Alta Mesa Holding Petro Operating Company managed the account, but no longer has the account. One of my siblings and myself have paid the taxes over the years and now wishes to have the property transferred and recorded in our names . My brother Kenneth L. Johnson ( a retired layer) and myself need legal assistance in making the transfer to our names.
Hire a probate lawyer in the county in which your mother lived to file an Application for Determination of Heirship and Issuance of Letters of Administration. If Florida law treats mineral rights as personal property, that should suffice. If Florida law treats mineral rights as real property, after the Texas probate there will need to be an ancillary probate in Florida.
