QUESTION

What is a fair amount for lawyers fees?

Asked on Apr 11th, 2011 on Estate Planning - Florida
More details to this question:
The investments were 265,000 and the house sold for 116,000 in Fort Myers, Fl. Their total was 381,000. The fees, Lawyer and Executer equals 81,000. This sounds way to high. I know the Lawyers in Fl. can only take 3% plus or minus, but they are taking more than the children of the will. What do you think?

This seems high but we would have to evaluate the circumstances. For more information on the fees you may want to look at the Free Florida Probate Handbook or consult with a local estate planning attorney. Remember you only have limited time to object to the fees.
