I live in ny state and I have a question regarding child support. I have an 18 year old whom I've adopted and receive an adoption subsidy till she is 21. She has moved in and out of my home many times . We have begged her to stay home where she has everything she needs. But she refuses. Now she is living in an apartment run by mental health and they are trying to say their going to take us to court for child support to pay for her level 2 apartment. It totals 1100 a month. Is there any way they will get it, if we are telling her she can come home.

Yes they can seek child support. You might want to move to have her emancipated if she isn't willing to come home. Talk to some family court lawyers near you.
