More details to this question:
Do grandparents have rights to there grandchild if the father is ur son because my grandson got really sick and I told his mom over and over agin to take him to the doctor then tue. He was running 101.4 temp. And she would get up to help me find Bradlee,s med,s and she never got up to check on him . The following day I got it down to 99.7 then it jumped back up there to 102.4 she wanted to wait to take him to the doctor the following day we told her 3 times to get him to the hospital now she said I half to wait for the doctor to call me back with the approvel of taking him to the hospital he got put on 2 bottles of antibiotics at 400 mg he wouldn't do nothing . And he is with me and his mom don't call or text to see how he is doing or talk to him on the phone . If my sister in law and I had not have gotten her into taking him to the hospital Bradlee would have gotten worse if not have died.he is doing real well because of me

Grandparents have certain rights in certain circumstances to visitation if asserted timely in a divorce situation. Your question is not clear whether the parents are divorced. You may file a petition for guardianship of the child if you believe that it is in the childs best interests to have a guardian of his person. This is not an easy proceeding on the parties. However, if the mother is not taking care of your grandchild, you may have to act. I suggest that you calmly discuss your concerns with the mother before you engage an attorney to pursue a guardianship.
