Alimony is determined based on several factors by the Court. The following are a few that the Court will use to determine the amount. Length of the marriage, health of the parties, ability to earn future income, educational levels of the parties, professional or work experience of the parties, station in life, level of accomodations and lifestyle during marriage etc.. Once such amount is determined in a divorce proceedings and an order is issued, the periodic payments will be paid to you throughout the year regardless whether your husband seasonally earns more or less.
