More details to this question:
My husband is counting the dollar value of jewelry my mother left me as an asset on my side. Is this right or wrong, legally?

If it's for the purpose of equitable distribution, yes, it's wrong. Inheritance is separate property.

It is your asset. But it is separate property, not marital property. Good luck!
