QUESTION

Back child support in Florida.

Asked on Mar 20th, 2016 on Child Support - Florida
More details to this question:
When I got divorce my ex agreed to pay $600 a month on child support, he stopped paying for a year because due to financial hardship, I allowed it because he told me he was going to pay it and I've never had a problem with him but now I am 2 months from my youngest child turning 18 and he claims that he will pay me as he can, since he paid me directly as was stated in the divorce papers and not through the system can I still get that year of child support back taking him to court or am I out of luck if he decides to not pay me back?

Child support is a vested right and it cannot be taken away from the child if owed and payment was required by a court order.  You need to file a motion to enforce the back payments and force him to start regularly repaying the arrearages.
