More details to this question:
To make a short story short. I am going through a divorce in the state of Missouri. I'm from New York and now return a few months ago after my in-law make verbal threats to me was the reason I left. Now for the pass week I been having indirect and direct threats and slander on my wife's Facebook page and members of her family. I have reported them to Facebook and they have been flagged and some of them removed at my request. I have all the messages saved. My question is what legal action I can take here in New York for there threats and slander that i have copies from Facebook?

Update Your Profile
First, if it's in a Facebook post it would be libel, not slander. Second, it's highly unlikely that you have any cause of action that will be worth your while. But you can show the specific posts to an attorney and have them reviewed. The ultimate question is whether you have the $25-50,000 to invest in a defamation lawsuit...and whether you're likely to recover more than your legal fees.
