Can a child request cancellation of court appointed visitations with a grandparent and if so, at what age?

More details to this question:
I have guardianship of my 11 yr old grandaughter. She was always allowed to visit with her paternal grandmother. However, when she became old enough to plays sports, go to birthday parties, etc. her she was not always available to spend every weekend with her grandmother. Instead of trying to work out a compromise, the grandmother took me to court & was granted once a month visits. My granddaughter absolutely hates these visits and is anxious for them to be over. Is there an age when she can go back to court & have visitations cancelled and instead have voluntary visits when time allows?
I am surprised that at 11 the court did not take her wishes into account, especially when it comes to grandparent rights. Does the other grandparent come to the sporting events to watch her play? are they given any opprtunities to be at her birthday, or "share" a visitation? That might help make it easier for your granddaughter. She also needs to express to the other grandmother why she does not want to spend a visit with her.
