i the grandparent of grandchild and live in same county as child and has kept the child on about every weekend of his life has filed for custody of the child. the other grandmother has after the fact that i have. i asked the mother permission and she told me she would rather him be with me the father feels the same and the child wants to be at my home as well. what are my chances of him being placed with me?
If both parents are in agreement as to the child being in your custody, there is almost no chance that the child will be placed with someone else. Unless either or both of the parents have lost custodial or parental rights or it can be shown that it will be harmful to the child to be in your custody, you should have no problem getting custody.
