Can a none relative win custody battle?

A babysitter that was hired and befriended is now trying to get full custody of the woman's only child. is there any known cases where a none relative wins custody battle?The women has a job,4 bedroom house,car,lots of pets. Has no criminal record, don't drink,don't smoke or use drugs.Just a normal family ,stepfather of a child has a job too but works out of state that's why kitchen renovations and a room renovation.The child was temporarily living with babysitter at her house cause of kitchen renovations,even thought the family eat out all the time in restaurants.The mother took child out for weekends and visited the child at school every week including every school function.Babysitter was payed by checks.Now the babysitter is suing for custody,full custody.Please pray for the family to get the child back and to teach that babysitter a lesson.
