QUESTION

Can a password be renewed if there is a restraining order?

Asked on Dec 19th, 2013 on Divorce - Idaho
More details to this question:
Can a passport be renewed that was issued in 2006 with no problems what so ever with the same restraining order in effect since 1994 and no changes to anything. It seems on a trip back from Canada recently I was told to pull over and go into the office area where again I was told there is a restraining order still in effect. I do not wish to file a motion since I could care less. It's 20yrs old and I haven't seen my ex wife in years. No communication what so ever so please just answer my question

So I will answer your question. Call the State Department and ask them. They are the ones responsible for passports.

I thought I answered this earlier. It would be best to simply file a motion in the court to rescind the order but. As long as you have not committed treason, been convicted of a felony or the subject of an outstanding criminal court order prohibiting you from leaving the U.S. you should be okay.

Majority of Florida Orders have an expiration date, you need to check if it has expired. Probable that the computer system used by Border Patrol has not been updated.
