Can an aggregated assault charge in a domestic situation be reduced to prevent a felony or jail time for a fist time offender?

Provoked multiple times and accused by wife, law was called and case opened but no one went to jail cause no one was ever hit or hurt. Happened again and knew I was going to jail So snapped and hit her, blacked her eyes. I know I did wrong and wish it didn’t happen. I have been taking testosterone shots and not sure if that had something do with it. I have been working with the same company for over 20 years and have never been in trouble. We have only been married one year and she has lumped from day one about all kinds of stuff and threatens me every twenty get into an argument. I filed for divorce after 7 months into our marriage but put it on hold cause I love her and she said she would change. Now this has happened and I can not even go to my house, which I had before we got married.
