Can an assumed biological father take away my son after 3 years of nothing?
Asked on May 11th, 2014 on Child Custody - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
My wife and myself were married and had a male child. Knowing she had an affair and that there is a chance my son may not be mine. I am on his birth certificate. We informed the alleged sperms donor father who made no efforts to be in my son's life. My wife left and I have primary custody of my son who is now 2 years 11 months 15 days. Later the "sperms donor" is threatening to take my son away from me by proving he is the father. Is there any way I can stop this man from trying take my son away?
If you are on the birth certificate and you have acknowledged this child as your own and have cared for him for two years. The other guy, even if he can get a paternity test, has an uphill battle to unseat you as dad. However, you should get a lawyer.
