Can he contest?

Asked on May 13th, 2013 on Divorce - New York
More details to this question:
My soon to be ex and I have no children and filed an uncontested divorce. It is on the judge's calendar. My husband is now getting volatile and threatening to call and contest if I refuse to talk to him. Can he do that? Can I have the case expedited if I fear for my emotional safety?

He can call - but it will have no effect. However, if he files the appropriate paperwork prior to the signing of the Judgment of Divorce he may be able to make the case contested.
