You file for a legal separation or dissolution and then make a motion for temporary orders including a temporary order of child support. He has no duty to pay unless you file. Also you will have to get a job as the law requires that both parents contribute to child support.

Yes you can collect child support. You can do it through the Family Court in an Action for Support. Or you could file a petition for legal separation or for divorce, and seek a temporary Order which would include his being required to pay an amount for child support. Or, perhaps, if you can trust him, you could just make a deal with him that he will pay a given sum each month. (Put it in writing.) Best of all, retain an experienced family law attorney to advise and represent you.

The children are entitled to support regardless of the parents' relationship. You can file for legal separation or divorce and get a temporary court order for child support and/or spousal support. You should really visit with a lawyer to know what your options are, as they vary based on your specific facts.

Yes, in Las Vegas you can go down to the district attorney office on east flamingo and start the process of collecting. The district attorney will start a case for you. Most of the time when there is a filing for child support there is an alternate filing in family court for custody in retaliation.
