More details to this question:
Hello, I have a question about child support, here's a little background. I am a 58 year old male with a 15 year old daughter who lives with me, in our home she grew up in. I am divorced now because the X found a new friend that she works with, who by the way was married with 2 kids. At the time of the divorce she lived in our home town (alone) and we agreed on 50/50 shared custody. My daughter could spend more time there after school if needed. She would spend the weekends there too. My daughter stays with me Sunday night through Saturday morning. Now exactly one year to the day her lease was up, she moved from our home town into a 1bedroom apartment with her friend from work, the one that nothing was going on with. She has not given me ten cents to help with expenses to support our daughter. The cost of keeping this house running on one income is difficult. And also paying for a divorce, I cannot afford to hire a lawyer for this matter. My lawyer did tell me that she thinks I have a case because of a change of circumstance. My question is will the courts in New York consider this a change of circumstance and change the custody agreement. I do need some help from her with the cost of taking care of our daughter. Oh also she was able to take a two week vacation in Florida with him, and a week in Colorado. Must be nice.

You can file a petition in the Family Court to change custody based on the changed living situation. Then you can file a petition for child support. The Family court doesn't charge fees for filing petitions etc. If you do not make enough, you might qualify for a free lawyer on the custody case. You can't get anything, if you don't ask! Good luck.
