Can I get in trouble legally if I leave my husband who is in early stages of dementia?

More details to this question:
I have been trying to leave my husband for many years but have no job or place to go. He has serious psychological problems. To tell you the things he has done, and still does would use more than 1000 characters. He now has dementia. I can't take it anymore. His psycho actions are worse than ever. I want to leave even if I have to live in the car.
You can leave him at any time. Get the phone number of the Adult Protective Services department in your county. They are part of the Board of Social Services. When you leave, call APS and tell them he needs help. You can make the call anonymously. If APS feels its necessary, they will start a guardianship to take over care for him. Good Luck.
