My daughters father just filed a motion to try and get visitation rights. He has never seen her and I have called him and asked him to sign off rights he won't. My financee has been raising her since she's been a newborn that's the only dad she knows. He filed the motion with a judge what do I need to do?
You will need to oppose the motion if you do not want the Court to grant it. If you do nothing, the Court will most likely grant his requested relief as a matter of default. If he is the father and there are not extenuating circumstances he likely will have some form of visitation, but being a part of the case you can help tailor how that happens. You best option is to seek a family law attorney in your area.
