QUESTION

Can VA disability be garnished?

Asked on Aug 28th, 2012 on Child Support - California
More details to this question:
My ex-husband refuses to pay for child support. I finally was able to set up a garnishment from his paycheck, but either quit or was fired. He gets money from the VA for military disability but I've been getting conflicting information on whether or not the money can be garnished for child support. He owes over $15,000 in child support.

Go the the office of the Department of Child Support Services in your county with a copy of the support order and ask that they file a motion to enforce the order and the payment of arrears and modify the order to reflect actual visitation.  No fees- their job is to do what is here indicated.
