QUESTION

child support

Asked on Nov 11th, 2014 on Child Support - California
More details to this question:
About 4 years ago my ex-wife closed our child support case. 2 months ago she re-opened it and I was notified that I now owe over 10 thousand dollars in arrears. How is this possible if the case was closed and how do I go about taking that off the support I owe now?

If there is an order for support, closing a case with the Department of Child Support Services does not affect the order- it only affects who collects the payment.  So the order was in place even though DCSS was not involved.
