More details to this question:
Since the age increased to pay child support in NJ until age 19, will my ex's SSDI continue to pay? When I called SS, they told me they will only pay until she is 18 unless I get a court order. Is this true? My ex has never paid support, I have always gotten a stipend from SSDI that substitutes for SSDI. Will I have to file a motion?
I believe you may have to file a motion because SSDI's requirements are based upon federal standards of 18 years of age, therefore, they have to be made aware of NJ's extension of benefits to age 19.
