QUESTION

Could I move out without parents permission?

Asked on Sep 09th, 2015 on Child Custody - Wisconsin
More details to this question:
I’m 16 and I got pregnant with a 17 year old (who is now 18). We had our baby about 6 weeks ago. I’m still in school and I plan on staying in till I graduate. I currently live with my dad in a trailer that I honestly don’t want my baby living in. My family and me are having real bad problems and I wanted to know if I could move out with my baby without my dad’s permission?

Generally, at age 16 you are not allowed out of the house without the parent's permission. I would like to know a little bit more about the circumstances, as if you are 16 and have already delivered a child it is possible that someone might seek to have criminal statutory rape charges brought against your boyfriend, if it was determined that you are having sexual intercourse with him under the age of 16.

Until you are 18, your parents have a great deal of control over you. On the other hand, it is almost impossible to hold a 16 year old down. Your best course of action is likely to try to work things out with your father. If you cannot, but no enough to be a good mother to your small child , Then you might be able to move out with out your father trying to hold you back. It would be best for you to consult an Adult whom you can trust, such as a clergymen or a doctor.
