Hi, Pete.   The short answer is that current income is always a factor in child support--first wife, second wife--doesn't matter, the kids are all your kids.  Support should be divided evenly between them.  When child support is caclulated for your planned divorce, you will get a credit for other children that you are paying support for.   You should be getting a whole family credit on your calculations for your child support for each child.  Talk with a local family law attorney in your area.  Most family law offices, like ours, has specialized software to allow us to "run the numbers" fairly quickly to let you know what the impact of any changes might be. Good luck!
