Asked on Nov 10th, 2013 on Family Law - Texas
More details to this question:
I have been divorced for 2.5 years. I am trying to modify my divorce vistation decree. I just found out that my ex wss previously married a year before we got married and the publuc records state his and her name as married. I had no knowledge of this or I would have brought this out during my divorce, much less married her until she got this divorce . How can this effect my current issue?

Aks a local TX lawyer but in PA, the prior marriage may nullify/void your marriage and could effect the divorce settlement, depending on who owes who money or property. If you are the one paying, you may want to challenge it-which is alot of work. If he is paying you, you may want to let this go. Again, ask a TX lawyer.
