I am from Arkansas my husband lives in Norway. i am seeking a divorce on the grounds of domestic violence. he claims are marriage is not legal over there and he does not have to do anything. I need advice on what steps i need to take.

Where did you get married?
If you were married in the U.S. you must file for divorce where you are a "resident." If you can serve him with summons, you may get divorced.
If you were married in Norway and your union is not legal there, it is not legal here.
