QUESTION

Divorce and Debt

Asked on May 02nd, 2017 on Divorce - Arkansas
More details to this question:
One credit card and one personal loan both in ex-wifes name. In divorce papers, I am left with the credit card but she has also been trying to make me pay her personal loan because in her opinion it would affect my credit. Ive called the personal loan provider and my name is not on this loan. And same with the credit card. As the divorce papers say, i have been paying the credit card but after looking closer at the statements, there is an crazy high interest rate on the debt. If the debt were in my name, i could transfer to another card with a smaller interest rate. But the credit card is in her name... What are my options? I don't have the money to pay it off right now due to all of the other expenses that have arisen from the divorce. Also, how will the debt in her name affect me?
