Divorce. Children now 20 in college, whos responsible financially.

boys were 17 yrs old. X husband paid no child support. I just wanted "out" of the marriage and signed papers allowing no child support at the time. He is supposed to cover medical, as he has the insurance, but the boys have been put in to collections because he doesnt pay the medical either. I currently live in NJ (Homestate) with the children. They are now in college. He gives the children absolutely 0 money. no money for food, clothing, schools. I find my self in debt paying for their car insurance (car was free), food, clothing, as it all goes on my credit card. I am now laid off. On unemployment. I made $30,000 in 2017. He made $75,000. Is there any way I can have him forced to pay for his children?

Thank you for your question. You would need to file an application with the Court in order to establish child support. Although your children are 20 and in college, child support is warranted as they are still considered unemancipated. Additionally, if your Agreement provides that he must cover medical insurance, and he hasn’t, you can file an application to enforce same to hold him accountable.
