QUESTION

Divorce modification

Asked on Feb 11th, 2015 on Divorce - New York
More details to this question:
My papers aren't signed yet but we settled the divorce. I agreed to the settlement because the courts were gonna allow my abusive husband some sort of custody/visitation. he quit his job 1 week after the we settled .He has not paid the child support for 6 months now and the alimony for 1 month. He gets the house when the papers are signed but him not paying his support/alimony has caused hardship on me and my children. He is also not living in the house but w/ his mother. Can I have the divorce settlement modified on these grounds?

Update Your Profile
It's not clear exactly what it is to which you agreed and there may or may not be grounds to modify any of it. Have the document reviewed by a local attorney and discuss options.
