Do I have the right to go out without permission even though I'm 18 and live with my parents?

More details to this question:
I'm 18 years old and live in NJ. I'm afraid to tell my parents that I'm old enough to go out and make my own decisions. Reason being, that I'm scared of my parents. They will yell at me and tell me that I'm wrong and that even though I'm 18, that I still can't go out with my friends because I live under their roof. Ever since I was younger, I was never allowed out of my house. If I did go out with my friends, it had to be with my little sister. Yes, I've made some mistakes in the past but it drives me crazy. When I was little, I used to always get good grades because I thought that if I did then maybe they would let me out. There were other kids who didn't even have good grades and they were allowed to go out when they wanted. So I stopped trying to be the perfect child and had my rebellious stage, but nothing worked. I went to my guidance counselor for help my last year in high school, she told me to talk to my parents. However, it didn't happen. I'm afraid. I need help!
Although you are legally an adult, you live in your parents house and must abide by their rules. If you do not, they have the right to put restrictions on you. If you do not want to follow their rules, you will have to move out. Sorry, I know this is not the answer you wanted.
