Grandmother pays support

Asked on Sep 27th, 2016 on Child Custody - Texas
More details to this question:
My ex husband is in colombia, he has been there since our separation, divorce everything, as he was deported for overstaying his VISA. His mother has been paying the child support as she doesn't want him to be penalized by the courts if he ever decides to come back to America. I am getting $224 mthly and she is now in school and the financial needs have changed. How can I get the child support increased if the grandmother is the one paying for it? Please advise if able to

You will need to file for a modification so that your ex-husband's income can be evaluated for an increase. Are you able to find out how much money he makes now? It doesn't matter that his mother is paying it, child support will be based on his income and he will be ordered to pay. It's okay that his mother is paying, but none of her information will be used to determine an increase.
