QUESTION

How are our assets going to be divided?

Asked on Feb 01st, 2014 on Divorce - Washington
More details to this question:
We are both 67 and retired. My husband gets approximately $1800 monthly SSI (disability). I have $572 monthly from SSI. I owned property in Washington state before we married, where we lived for 9 years together. I assume we own it jointly now. It is in his name for a tax break. I received approximately $98,000, an inheritance and paid of all our debts and paid off the loan on that property also putting the rest as down payment on our current property. He received $48,000 from his mom (a one time gift when she sold her house to move here to Florida with us) and bought all the furniture in our house and made improvements etc. here in Florida. We have cared for his mother for 7 years. His name is on her bank accounts to the tune of $50,000 and more as her power of attorney. We own (make payments) the house we are living in and it needs to be sold as we live separately now, as part of the process. What assets would be divided 50/50? My income alone would not support me, what can I do as far as that goes? What else do I need to know or provide?
