I want to get a will for in case i die or get too sick to care for my son. Im 33yrs old. I dont have full custody. My sons dad lives in mexico. He is not legal here and can't live here because he has felonies so i have been taking care of my son since he was a baby. My sons dad got in trouble and went to Mexico 4 years ago. I have 3 people in mind of who i would want to take care of my son if something happened to me. One is my husband's sister which he would agree to that but the other two im not sure he would agree with them being my sons guardian. Also how do i get full custody of my son so that i can make the decision by myself? Im on low income disability and work part time so is there a lawyer to do all this for free or cheap?
You should contact the local legal aid office to see if you qualify for free or low cost legal services to address the issues you discuss. You may also find helpful information at www.texaslawhelp.org.
It is unclear whether your husband and your son's father is the same person. That is a big factor in determining how to go about getting sole managing conservatorship of your son.
