How can i get supervised visits for my daughter?

my ex beat me, went to jail for domestic violence. got out and went back to jail for drug charges has been in jail since my daughter was 2 months old, now almost 3 she does not know who he is, but was awarded joint custody. I am terrified for my life and my daughters. how can i get supervised visits Please Help!!!!!!
