QUESTION

How can I see my son?

Asked on Jan 11th, 2018 on Child Custody - Florida
More details to this question:
My son is 1 years old and lives with his mother and her mother 5 minutes away from me. After my ex and I split early in 2017 she decided she doesn’t want me around my son stating that it’s unfair to put him in a situation like we have now. The only way she will let me see my son is if she is present and I have to go to her mothers house to visit with him and that’s OCASSIONAL. She fights with me about coming to see him and tells me that I haven’t been apart of his life but gives me no chance to do so. Our situation is slightly different because we are young parents and don’t agree on how we should share our child. My money is very limited I’m 20 years old working full time to support myself but will do anything for the chance to be with my son. She filed for child support but dropped the case stating “she doesn’t want to have a custody agreement, she would rather me be out of my sons life completely” unfortunately for her that is not going to work for me.

I completely agree with you. You should stay in the child life. Even if you have to make child support payment of $100/month or more you should, to establish yourself as a responsible father in the court eyes. We can certainly try to help you evaluate your options within your budget. Feel free to give us a call or text for a free consultation. Thank You. Toll-Free 1-877-866-8665 Ahsan Syed, Case Manager
