More details to this question:
the boys are 11 and 4 and were taken away from dad after 10 and 4 years of them living with him and him caring for them alone and mom was never in the picture and never cared for the boys as much as dad did. last year mom decided to take dad to court and fight for custody of the boys and she won, now dad only sees them every other weekend. mom has a new husband and he physically and verbally abuses the boys and possibly even sexually, there is proof of the physical abuse in pictures and in videos of the boys admitting that moms new husband does hit them. going through CPS is not helping and now the oldest one who is 11 ran away for the first time.. no one seems to care that the little 4 year old is always getting hurt and mom never seems to know why or she always says her husband never touches them. the boys are very unhappy and the oldest has threatned to kill himself. PLEASE HELP DAD

I think pursuing the case through CPS is a very good first step, as is getting the kids in counseling, and pushing for the appointment of minors' counsel or a child custody evaluator. You need someone else on your side. I wish you all the best in resolving this sad situation and I hope the children get the help they need.
