QUESTION

How does a Emergency relief order severe?

Asked on Jan 24th, 2013 on Child Custody - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
I was about to file for full cusody of my then 9 year old daughter, and a custody order was drawn up. 2 weeks after finding out I planned to file full custody, my ex filed a SPECIAL EMERGENCY RELIEF order stating I abused my daugher and her sister. I was found innocent, and want to know how long this RELIEF order is in place, or itf it runs out after a certain amount of time? And if so, does the current custody order stay reinstated, or do I need to refile?

So, if after a hearing, the court entered an order denying the Petition, then the emergency order has been superceded.  But you should have an attorney review the Petition and the orders to confirm this as sometimes other provisions are included in an order which could effect your custody status.
